Plant a Cherry Tree!
April 12 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
| FreeLearn how to plant a seed to make a cherry blossom tree. Cherry blossom seeds require conditioning to germinate properly, in a process called Stratification. We will have done this step ahead of time for you (since it takes time and cold to do!), and will show you how to use peat and a nursery pot to prepare the seed to become a plant. You’ll go home with a planted seed and instructions for how to care for your new plant.
This activity is great for adults and kids over 3.
Advance registration is not required, but does help us make sure we have enough materials for everyone who wants to get crafty! As a make-and-take activity, you’re welcome to stop in anytime during activity hours to make your collage. We highly recommend NOT coming at the event start time as that’s when everyone else arrives, which creates a waiting time.
This event is part of our Blossoms & Beakers Series at Because Science taking place April 12-18. For information about the event series as a whole, check out this listing: Blossoms & Beakers. We’re also running a daily scavenger hunt with prizes and 20% off all pink and plant items for the event duration.
