Lapis Bistro is proud to present its first-ever Afghan Cultural Bazaar, a celebration of heritage and artistry featuring local Afghan-American talent, from visual art and handmade jewelry to traditional rugs and henna. With a cultural legacy spanning over 5,000 years in the heart of Central Asia, Afghanistan is a vibrant mosaic of traditions, languages, and stories.

Join us on Saturday, May 17th, for a cocktail reception in honor of Afghanistan’s rich culture and the 10th anniversary of Lapis. The evening will include guest speakers, artists, traditional Afghan dancers, and live music — all paired with the beloved food and drinks that define the Lapis experience. Full bar service will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Then, on Sunday, May 18th, we open our doors to the community for the Cultural Bazaar — a lively marketplace spotlighting the incredible work of Afghan artists and makers.

Each ticket includes a special Lapis gift bag filled with curated surprises, and a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to Women for Afghan Women — the largest non-governmental organization in the world dedicated to Afghan women’s rights. Founded in April 2001, the organization is committed to protecting and empowering Afghan women and girls.
