The Potter’s House is thrilled to partner with 1455 Literary Arts for a special conversation with Douglas Stuart, who will read from his 2020 Booker Prize-winning novel Shuggie Bain.

Douglas Stuart is a Scottish-American author. Shuggie Bain, his debut novel, is a heartbreaking story of addiction, sexuality, and love — an epic portrayal of a working-class family that is rarely seen in fiction.

1455’s Founding Director Sean Murphy and the author will discuss the process of writing this book and the contemporary literary scene, followed by a Q&A.
